OBR Construction have been working within the nuclear sector for 5 consecutive years undertaking roofing and civils projects. 

Over this time, we have undertaken roofing projects that combine into an excess of 20,000m2 of roofing using the Sika Liquid Plastic system. 

These projects have been under both active nuclear site and decommissioning site conditions. 

Our roofing work has included a full strip of the current roofing system (felt, asphalt, single ply) and exposing the roof structural deck. After a thorough survey of the deck to ensure integrity, a full built up warm roof system was installed. 

We have stripped asbestos containing material in house under NNLW conditions, undertaken concrete repair work on defective concrete slabs and replaced roof metal decks to ensure the life cycle of the Magnox asset is fit for future purpose.

Our latest project is within Trawsfynydd decommissioning site, where we will be undertaking the civils and construction work involved in the height reduction enabling work for the two reactor buildings. This includes demolishing of internal walls, forming new door openings, cladding internal areas that will later become the external leaf of the reduced reactor and replacements of over 200 security doors.
